A PROPOSAL THEY CAN'T REFUSE
BOOK COVER ILLUSTRATION
I was invited to create the book cover design and illustration for A Proposal They Can’t Refuse, the debut romantic comedy novel by Natalie Cañas, published by Harlequin.
The story brings together a Puerto Rican chef and an Irish-American whiskey distiller who become entangled in a fake engagement arranged by their witty, octogenarian grandfathers. My goal with the cover was to capture the playful tone, cultural richness, and romantic tension that define the narrative, while designing a visual that stands out in the competitive rom-com publishing market.
This project reflects my approach to illustrated book cover design: blending character-driven storytelling, vibrant composition, and market-aware creativity to deliver covers that resonate with both readers and publishers.
