Marina – A Story About Plastic and the Planet
CHILDREN’S BOOK ILLUSTRATION
CHILDREN’S BOOK ILLUSTRATION
I illustrated Marina: A Story About Plastic and the Planet, written by Jesse Byrd. This environmental children’s book follows Marina, a young girl who carelessly throws away a plastic sandwich wrapper without realizing its impact on the planet.
The story takes readers on a visual journey of the wrapper’s path, showing how it harms sea creatures, affects their health and well-being, and eventually washes ashore where Marina and her family are playing. This moment opens her eyes to the dangers of single-use plastics, inspiring her to learn more and take action to protect the environment.
Through colorful and engaging illustrations, the book teaches children the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling, raising awareness about ocean pollution and encouraging small steps toward environmental stewardship.
Marina: A Story About Plastic and the Planet was released in 2023 and is available for purchase.
