THE FURRY HISTORY OF CATS
CHILDREN'S BOOK ILLUSTRATION
I had the pleasure of illustrating The Fury History of Cats, a richly detailed non-fiction children’s book published by Hachette UK. This project was my second collaboration with award-winning author Clive Gifford, and focused on the captivating world of wild and domestic cats.
The book showcases over 40 illustrated feline species, including lions, tigers, jaguars, ocelots, and lesser-known wild cats. Through vivid, engaging illustrations and educational content, the book explores cat anatomy, fur patterns, movement, and natural habitats, as well as the role of cat conservation in today’s world.
My goal was to bring scientific accuracy and visual charm together, making the illustrations both educational and emotionally engaging for young readers. Each page was carefully researched and painted to reflect the personality and physical characteristics of each species.
This project highlights my experience in natural science illustration, animal anatomy, and children’s publishing—and my passion for storytelling through illustration.
